My partner is always on the lookout for unique coffee flavors, and it grew on me. After trying the Shoyu Caramel, I finally decided to start my own list of favorite coffee discoveries. Their coffee drinks are made by an award winning master Barista. Their food me is exceptional and not over-priced. I ordered their Salmon Nicoise salad with mixed lettuce, generous slices of salmon, red cheery tomatoes, potatoes, black olives, green beans, and anchovie fillets. It is hard to find a good salad in the Philippines. This salad was exceptional, ample, and delicious. Their spring rolls were refreshingly different from the usual and again, delicious. My youngest son will only eat french toast if it is made at Communal or its sister restaurant, Variables. Why go to Starbucks for semi-good coffee and pre-made food, when you can get perfect coffee and superb home-cooking at Communal by Variables? Their pork chops, beef stroganoff, fish dishes, pasta, and more are made to order. They also serve exceptional breakfasts and delicious teas and non-caffeine drinks. The servers deserve tips. They continually refill your water, are always smiling, and attentive. The owners, Dinia and Karl, are wonderful people who want their customers to feel relaxed, enjoy their meals, and come again.
