I am a regular customer at Costa Coffee Basildon Shopping Centre and I visit this store at least twice every day during my work breaks. I have always enjoyed coming to Costa and have never experienced any issues until today. Unfortunately, the way I was treated by a member of staff, on 26/06/2026 who informed me that she was the manager, was completely unacceptable and has left me feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and very disappointed. Today, I ordered my usual Chocolate Fudge Frappé. When I received my drink, I noticed that the chocolate topping was missing. I politely mentioned this to the staff member and explained that the drink normally comes with chocolate topping. I also explained that I understood customers should pay extra if they request additional topping, but not for the standard topping that is usually included with the drink. Even though I disagreed with being charged, I remained calm and respectful and agreed to pay the extra charge for the topping. I did not raise my voice, use inappropriate language, or behave in an aggressive manner. I simply wanted my drink prepared correctly and was willing to pay to avoid any disagreement. However, after paying for both my drink and the additional topping, I was treated in a rude and unprofessional way. The staff member became hostile towards me and made me feel as though I had done something wrong simply by asking a question regarding my order. As a paying customer, I believe I should be able to raise a concern politely without being treated disrespectfully. I asked to speak with the manager because I felt the situation was being handled unfairly. I was then informed that the person serving me was the manager. Instead of listening to my concerns and attempting to resolve the issue professionally, she instructed staff not to serve me, told me to leave the store, and stated that I should not return to the store in the future. I was shocked and extremely upset by this behaviour. I had paid for my order and had done nothing that would justify being removed from the store. Being told to leave in front of other customers was humiliating and caused me considerable distress. As someone who visits this Costa every day and spends money there regularly, I found this treatment deeply offensive and completely unacceptable. I respectfully request that this incident be investigated thoroughly and that the CCTV footage be reviewed. The footage will clearly show that I remained calm, polite, and respectful throughout the interaction. It will also demonstrate how I was treated by the manager and staff. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and I would appreciate a full explanation regarding the actions of the manager involved. I believe no customer should be treated in this manner, especially a loyal customer who simply raised a reasonable concern regarding their order. I look forward to receiving a prompt response and details of the outcome of your investigation. Meal type: Breakfast Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Everything was okay. But staff member I think her name is Antonia is so rude! Rolling her eyes and shoving items into my hand. I came in one morning and she was blasting loud music thru the speakers from her phone. Her attitude is unprofessional and really needs to be addressed.. does she take everything person and take it out on customers? Clearly im not the first person to mention this Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

The worst customer service ever. The batista monica is THE RUDEST MOST ARROGANT PERSON I've ever encountered. Asking for a straw for frappe and shes said YOU CANT HAVE ONE , NO STRAWS. She does not deserve a customer facing job Price per person: £1–10
