We decided to book at Cradle Moon Lakeside Game Lodge for Mother's Day Lunch.
When we arrived we were promted to pay R300 per person before entering the restaurant. We paid and went in. When they started bringing out the bain maries and plates of food we stood up to dish up, but only to realise that half of the items advertised was not there, when we asked the chef where the dishes are he told us sorry it did not work out, and now Im talikg about 6 dishes that we could count that was not there. We stood around waiting for plates as there was no plates to even dis up a soup or salad. Two of us waited for a plate and then scooped one scoop of the "mussel soup". to our dissapointment we found that there were no mussels in the shells, the whole soup was just cream and empty shells. We then asked for the manager to come so that we can address this matter with him. He came and had alot of stories saying that this and that went wrong that is why half of the stuff is not present at the buffet. We asked for a refund of our monies paid and they charged us R90 for the bowl of mussel shell cream. And also charge us a entrance fee of R30 per person which we paid. Marie the manager had such a bad attitude towards us as if we were the bad ones for not being happy with this sub standard service.
They took 2 hours to refund our money that we paid. At the end of the day we had to look for another place to go, by that time most places had alreadt finished their Mother's Day lunches.
This messed up our entire Mother's Day, I will not be going to this establishment ever again and will also not reccomend anyone else to ever go there.
