I am the owner of Cucina, and I was the person who tried to find you another table. I was unaware that you were originally sat in the back dining room, otherwise I would have not attempted to take you back there again. It was definitely a challenge for us to try to seat a fully booked restaurant on a Saturday evening when the rear dining room air conditioner broke. I apologize if you thought I was terse regarding the insect. In the 25 years that I have owned Cucina, I have maintained a contract with a pest control service, have rigorous cleanliness controls, and an "A" grade with all of our health inspections. I was in fact trying to reassure you that it was a tree beetle. With our restaurant being over the creek, we get these beetles every Spring and Summer, and do our best to keep them at bay, but it is nearly impossible with doors opening and closing constantly. It is not a reflection of the cleanliness of Cucina. After I re-sat you, I instructed my server to bring you and your spouse a complementary glass of wine for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, when he went to greet you, you had already left. I am sorry that our efforts fell short. I understand if you will not return, but I hope that you will consider other great restaurants in San Anselmo.More
