We opted for the Chettinad and a Jalfrezie with rice and Nann bread . The jalfrezie was ok but Chettinad had a strange taste which wasn't very pleasant. The nanns were really good and the portions generous. The big issue here was the service. I had to go through to the bar to place the order and then again twice to chase up the food. A young polite lad came through to apologies and removed the pickles from the bill however, overall the service is really poor. Really unusual to find an Indian restaurant that allows dogs so owners should be congratulated on this. Unfortunately to accommodate this you are seated in a small snug at the entrance. No big deal but it was this that probably contributed to the poor service. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £50–60 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Everything about our visit was disappointing. The restaurant lacked any atmosphere or character, and we had to wait an unreasonably long time for our food. The starters arrived partially burnt, with some parts inedible. The main courses were even worse. Both curries were so excessively salty that we struggled to eat them and left most of the food unfinished. We shared our concerns with the waitress, but there was very little response or interest in addressing the issue. The staff were rude and did not respond professionally or courteously to our complaints. There was also a very unpleasant smell in the restaurant, which made the experience even worse. The chicken had an unusual smell that made us question its freshness, so we did not feel comfortable eating it. Without a doubt, this was the worst curry experience I've had in years. I would not recommend this restaurant Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

“Had a lovely lunch at Desh Restaurant. The food was fresh, flavourful and tasted truly authentic, and the portion sizes were perfect for the price. The staff were polite and attentive throughout, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
