Soooo I have to remember, I have found that BBQ is definitely a southern thing. Overall, nice place. Food was ok. I tried to do “healthy bbq” and have a smoked turkey sandwich, basically a BLT with cheese. The meat was served cold, like a standard deli meat BLT… to me, that’s odd. Maybe it’s a northern thing. However, my wife got the turkey platter dinner and it too came out cold, that is definitely not right. Also, we each got mac & cheese for a side and it was lukewarm at best. The sandwich had a decent taste to it, but the mac & cheese was sort of plain. It just could’ve been better. Also, our server didn’t seem to care if we were there or not. However, it could be due to the look of displeasure on my face for the food she just served us when she came over to check and see if everything was good. She didn’t pay us any attention after that. We love Docs. However, at the State Fair, my pulled pork sandwich was 90% FAT! Disgusting. Come on Docs …. Do better. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

Frank at DOC's Commerce Smokehouse is hands down the MVP of waitstaff! Not only did he recommend the perfect BBQ combo, but his timing with drink refills was so spot-on, it felt like he had BBQ superpowers. Frank balanced top-tier service with a dash of humor, making our meal even better than we imagined. If you’re lucky enough to have Frank as your waiter, prepare yourself for amazing food and a side of legendary service. Cheers, Frank—you’re a smokehouse superstar! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
