My boyfriend and I have been to dancing roll a few times. I loved the place. The quality and flavor of the sushi was delicious, especially if you get the half price rolls! However, my experience today was HIGHLY disappointing. I have been feeling under the weather, and was going to order some tea. I ordered the green tea, and was getting water after that (or so I planned on it). I’m sitting there, across from my boyfriend. We check out the menu, hand over the slips, and the waitress comes and asks if we are ready to order. We let her know we are ready to go. She takes it, reads it back, doesn’t ask if we want miso before to start. I honestly thought ‘oh, okay. Things happen and they must be under staffed,’ since they have a ‘waiters needed’ sign near the front. We wait about 10 minutes for us to get our drinks. My green tea is in a big Rae Dunn mug. Since it’s boiling, I’m sitting and waiting so I don’t burn myself. Everything is good. Our food comes out, as does my extra water. I’m about to take a sip and my boyfriend points out a big smear of lipstick on the side after asking me how it was, and I confirm I didn’t have any yet but was excited to do so (the smudge/big smear near the front, not anywhere a person who could take a sip from unless they unhinge their jaws like a snake). No big deal, accidents happen! I’ve worked food service since the age of 17, so I know ‘oopsies’ happen :). However, this was handled horrendously. When the waitress comes around and asks us how it is, I say the food is great, but the mug has a huge smear and I don’t feel comfy drinking tea from it knowing it has visible grime on it (if you can see it, what is not visible?) She kind of waves it off, seems irritated or annoyed about it but resolves it begrudgingly. Then I finish my sushi, wait for my check and see that the tea was still charged. I’m aware it’s only $2.75, which isn’t much at all, but it’s the principle. I feel I shouldn’t have had to pay for something 1) I did NOT take a sip of (it was filled to the brim), and 2) something that was absolutely filthy, so much where I started to feel paranoid if the plates and other things were actually cleaned. I really loved dancing roll, but after this I don’t think I’ll ever be going back :/. I understand the ‘NO REFUNDS’ policy, but the mug was absolutely FILTHY and I wasn’t even offered a replacement. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

All my BM's normally love this sushi spot! unfortunately, this last time, my 3rd son's mother found a DAS KAPITAL in his (AFAB but currently transitioning) (ginger) salad. The cutlery was also extremely strange and easily could've hurt his toofies :(. I called dancing roll several times but kept forgetting why and just ordering 2 sunday mornings (4 sides of spicy mayo). I am clinically depressed. sad in general. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
