Love their coffee shop Always great vibe, excellent coffee and pastry and amazing service! This also means sometimes the line is long but it is worthwhile - they always have great selection of desserts. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20

One of the best latte spots in Denver, hands down! Love the staff, and the shop’s cozy atmosphere. People in the neighborhood love it too so there’s always a line in the mornings, but things usually clear up by the afternoon. They sell delicious pastries and beautiful pre-arranged flowers out of their cold case too! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $10–20 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Dietary restrictions: There are a couple of gluten free pastry options Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free of charge street parking, Valet Kid-friendliness: Lots of families with kids frequent this spot Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to get inside, but can be very tight quarters with customers. One step up to the bar.

We have frequented Devil's Food Bakery for many years. The service has always been spotty at best. Last week we stopped in around 10:30am for tea and pastries. It wasn't too busy, yet as usual many people had dropped their coats or glasses on a table or at the bar and then got in line to order. My wife sat at the counter/ bar area while I waited in line. As I was in line I noticed a table at the front and back cleared and people walking in after us immediately placed their coats and glasses on these tables then got in line. I was just about to order when the male wait person turned and told my wife that she shouldn't be taking a seat until after she ordered. Odd that at least 2 people who came in after us did the exact same thing, yet he did not ask them to move. We opted to leave given his rudeness and were baffled that he opted to target my wife rather than others who came in after us. Rather than cause a scene I opted to call and speak with a manager. When we got home I called and spoke with a manager. He was cordial and acknowledged this has been an ongoing problem, yet they have not found a good way to fix it. The reviews of the business show this is an ongoing problem in addition to rude wait staff. Having numerous friends in the restaurant and hospitality business I offered him some suggestions. Again, he was cordial, yet my takeaway is he had no desire to address customer concerns and seems to have lots of excuses for the problems identified in the reviews of this establishment. I shared with him that this behavior is unacceptable on all levels. I also let him know I will never frequent this business again and I will share our negative experience with others when they are looking for a coffee or pastry shop. I also emailed the owner sharing our experience, yet have not received a response. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
