Hellllla gewwwd Kimchee like I think they make it in house cuz you have to cut it. It has the perfect sour taste that I love!

My boyfriend really likes this KBBQ restaurant and highly recommended it to me, my brother and his girlfriend. We decided to have our double date here one night. It's located behind Don e Don and Menchanko-Tei on Ke'eaumoku St. It's the only outdoor restaurant under a HUGE tree (hard to miss) around the area. There's a small parking lot next to the restaurant where parking can be difficult during dinner times. But lots of street parking nearby after 5 or 6pm. The group and I decided to get the Combo A (Fresh pork belly + Beef brisket + Beef Tongue) and add an extra order of Kalbi and Beef brisket. A lot of banchans (sides) came out and those were super good especially the bean sprouts and fish cakes! I usually like the sides over the meat whenever I eat KBBQ. I have no idea why LOL. The meat came out, and definitely didn't look like there was much for the price we were paying. The food was good, but my brother, his girlfriend, and I all agreed it was not enough for us. On another night, I came back with my boyfriend and his friends. They ate the same thing but had an extra order of brisket and tongue. I didn't eat but ordered their lychee soju and coffee soju cocktails. These cocktails were DANGEROUS. They were really really good. The lychee flavor was strong and masked the alcohol. I thought the coffee would taste weird but it was surprisingly really good. It was a tad watered down, and we could taste the wateriness. BUT a good drink to try! I felt this is a great restaurant to drink and eat with friends, but it is quite pricey for the amount of meat given. The soju cocktails are definitely must tries as many restaurants do not serve most of the flavors listed. P.S. I believe the end of January is their last month before closing doors. Restaurants on the same block (Ireh, Menchanko-Tei, Don e Don) are also probably going to be closing down too because of a new apartment complex establishment. Kind of sad to hear that as these restaurants are small local businesses. Please support these restaurants until then!!

This was my fourth or fifth visit, and Yakiniku Don-Day is quickly becoming a favorite place to take friends for a relaxed atmosphere with great food and soju cocktail.
