My sister and I wanted something quick and easy and this was nearby the hotel we were staying. We both don't eat meat, so this was perfect! We ordered the chick'n tenders and mashed potatoes to go. Recommend if you're in the area!

I happened upon this place on my way back from Santa Cruz. It's not super clear this is a shared kitchen space so it was nice that other businesses in the area knew to accompany me to the actual door where I was meant to pick up my order. For my first time, I ordered fried pickles and the 4 pc wings. This was VERY PRICEY but for what it's worth, it's not like you can find this same thing somewhere for less. The food was a bit salty but overall very tasty and well-made. It definitely had me craving for my next visit. Sadly, the next time I stopped by, I was able to place an online order but they were a no-show that day. I left a few voicemails but did not receive a response regarding refunding my order. I found out that my order was refunded when I called my credit card to resolve this issue. I hope that was a one-off situation. I get that emergencies come up, but it would have been nice if there was some kind of communication to let me know my order could not be processed that day, or that my order would be refunded due to their inability to fulfill my order. I'll definitely be back since the food is super yummy. I wish I could justify the cost to be a regular costumer but spending $40 for a single meal (combo meal + side order + tax + tip) for one person is a bit steep for what I'm willing to spend on a meal.

Update: I guess we won't be back since this establishment says the food is not for us. We were very excited to see that Don't Be Chick'n arrived in San José, after unsuccessfully trying to find their truck in Oakland. First time we stopped by they were closed (despite being during posted business hours), but we finally got in over the weekend. Know that this is a pickup-only spot, where your order is handed to you from a coworking kitchen. No issues, just ring the doorbell and they'll give you your order. Ours was done quickly and was packed nicely. We immediately dug into the fries (hot, crispy, too salty) and then ate the rest at home. Husband got the Buffalo Chick'n and he was extremely pleased with the flavor, spice level, and texture of the vegan meat. Not going to complain about the $20 price tag here, as it was done perfectly well and it's not something you can get really anywhere else in South Bay. I had the mashed potatoes with gravy. This was disappointing on a number of levels. First it was a small scoop for $9. Not worth it even if it was delicious. But it wasn't. The potatoes were dry and bland. No creaminess, no fluffiness. Really terrible. Then the gravy is just a complete salt bomb. We ended up tossing it. We'll definitely be back for the sandwiches and fries.
