My wife had nothing but great things to say about this place. However this past weekend things changed rather quickly. It was nice and sunny around 2 pm. The bartender/host/server was doing his best at running the business. It was rather odd to see one person doing it all in the front of the house. He took our orders, brought us water. My wife and I chatted and I drank some water. Almost immediately she notice that my clear water cup was dirty. She rotated the cup and the dirtiness was inside of the cup. I was disappointed and disgusted at the same time. As the bartender brought our cocktails I mentioned the dirty water cup. His reaction “oh my god, let me get you a new one”. Not another word. He brought a new cup and made it seem like it never happened. No apology no acknowledgement of any sort nothing was offered to remediate the awful incident. The food arrived. But by then our appetite and enthusiasm was gone. The chorizo dip was good. The chicken bowl was not. (Lettuce overload, a bland avocado sauce, over colored rice and dry chicken). I chanced on Dorado on a walk up Park Ave while visiting Rochester on business from the UK. It absolutely hit the spot for me! It’s a small restaurant with a great vibe. What makes it are the friendly and welcome staff Desiree is a ball of energy and after too much stodgy food elsewhere we talked through menu options and settled on a great dish that she had tuned to my tastes. You have to try the cocktails and the tequila. Sat at the bar chatting with others we were all offered a shot ‘on the house’. The tequila here has changed my view of what a good tequila is. This place has it all and I will be back on my next trip! Thanks guys. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Desiree, our bartender, is the cat’s pajamas and I can’t say enough great things about eating and drinking in her company. She made our night out a special one with laughter, and incredible energy. I highly recommend this bar/restaurant with a terrific staff, solid menu, and vibrant atmosphere. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
