Service was not what I expected. The waiter didn't bring Olive Oil and vinegar with bread (which was cold) and when I asked, gave me the "look" and brought it without saying a word. The place does have a nice atmosphere.

I highly recommend La Opera when traveling to Madrid. From the outdoing terrace you can see the Royal Palace and one of the main city squares. The staff was responsive and knew the menu well. I order the seafood paella for two which had clams, lobster, prawns, rice and their specially soup. I paired my meal with two regional white wines that blended well with my order. If you are tourist visiting Madrid, I highly suggest making a visit to try their paella. I another plus is that they accept all major credit cards.

Delicious meal prepared for a large group of us. Started with some croquettes and sparkling wine. Progressed to duck pate and more wine. The date stuffed lamb that I ordered was one of the best main courses that I enjoyed, in the entire time I spent in Spain! Throughout the evening a young couple would enter the dining area and to the accompaniment of a pianist would sing pieces from various operas. It was entertaining and adorable!
