After attending a days seminar in the hotels event hall, my wife and I dropped by EIGHT to fill our grumbling bellies and boy they sure DID NOT disappoint us! We really enjoyed the plethora of food selection. And tie a bow for our dining experience was JENRY, impeccable service, simply TOP NOTCH! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NZ$70–80 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Orange Chocolate Fountain with Variety of Desserts, Creme Brulee, Salad Bar, Naan Basmati Rice and Mango Chutney, Seafood Selection, Assorted Sushi, Crunchy Nut, Various Sushi, Pancake, Celebration Cake for My Girl, Chicken Butter & Beef Stew, Fruit Salad, Fresh Seafood, Dessert, High Tea, Sushi and Sashimi, Butter Chicken, BBQ Bun and Pork Shumai, Pancakes

We had dinner on Sunday evening and it was wildly expensive for the quality. We've dined here multiple times, and it's been amazing. This time it was awful, we put a few items on the plate and left most of it, the quality of the food was terrible, cooked terrible and some things were empty and stayed empty the entire time we were there. We didn't even get offered a drink by the staff, and they topped up our water a couple of times, so they had the opportunityto ask. I also remember the environment being top restaurant, I.e. what people were wearing, formal nice dinner outfits. This time however it felt like we were dinning in a backpacker hotel and don't get me wrong, I loved my backpacker days, and I also love casual dining, however I would not expect backpacker vibes when you're paying $129 per person, at the most it was worth $50 per person. We tried to address this to the lady at the desk when we paid, and the response was, "Oh, sorry, here's the bill." We were offered a discount but only after 2 more times of us trying to address the problem. For us, it was more about someone wanting to hear and take on board feedback, but clearly, no one cared enough about that. They were just there to do a job. They've increased the price but significantly decreased quality, Safe to say, we'll never be dining here again.
