Usually incredible food and service but our waitress was horrible and very rude (Mel). She must have been new because she didn't know the menu but her lack of patience was incredibly rude. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We’ve been here about 8-10 times now, and overall we’ve enjoyed the restaurant, which is why this most recent experience was so disappointing. First, I want to give a shout out to Luis. We’ve had him as our server a few times, and he is fantastic. Our visits are always noticeably better when he takes care of us—friendly, attentive, and great at making sure everything runs smoothly. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was the opposite experience. We came a little later than usual, but the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. We waited about 30 minutes before our server came to our table. He appeared to be new or in training, which is completely understandable, but communication was very difficult. He took our order, but it seemed like he didn’t fully understand what we were asking for, and another employee later came by to “confirm” our order. When the food arrived, several items were missing. Trying to explain what was missing and get the order corrected was frustrating because of the communication issues. Mistakes happen, especially with newer staff, and we were willing to be patient. What was most disappointing, though, was how the situation was handled at the end of the meal. My husband simply mentioned that we’d had a poor experience, and a manager immediately responded, “We can discount food, not alcohol.” We honestly weren’t looking for a discount—we were hoping for an acknowledgment or apology after being repeat customers who generally enjoy coming here. They did take $5 off our $81 bill, which I appreciate as a gesture, but without any apology or concern for our experience, it felt impersonal and dismissive. We’ll probably give the restaurant another chance because we’ve had good experiences here before, especially with Luis. But after this visit, we may also start trying some of the other options nearby. Good customer service isn’t about never making mistakes—it’s about how you handle them when they happen. Shout-out to El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant on Raleigh Road! We stopped in for dinner and had such a great experience. Our 8-month-old grandbaby absolutely loved it, our waitress was so kind and attentive, and the food was delicious. The portions were so generous we even had enough to bring home for another meal. It’s always nice to have such great service and food all around. We’ll definitely be back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
