This is my favorite Dominican restaurant in the bronx. There's no th ing I cnat really complain about . Everything down to the tres leche cake is amazing.must go to place.

I wish rating no stars was an option. I ordered via Grubhub at 10:30 PM and at 12 AM I was on the phone with a Grubhub rep requesting a refund because my food never showed! All of this AFTER speaking with a woman at the store 3 times to change and make sure my telephone number was correct. This also, after chatting with a Grubhub rep to make sure they changed it. She also confirmed that "they called the driver" to correct the number. On the last phone call, the woman at the El valle resturant asked to put me on hold and then hung up after 5 minutes and when I called back a spanish speaking woman that knew no english picked up and said they were closed. My girlfriend spoke to here and she claimed an order was never place and that the woman I originally spoke to had left.. When we had spoke like 5 minutes prior. Had to call Grubhub to get a refund and go to bed on am empty stomach. This place has HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and needs to learn a thing or two on how to conduct business.

My friends were visiting NYC and staying at the Opera House Hotel (nice hotel by the way). We wanted to eat someplace close by. This restaurant is right next door. I have been debating between giving this restaurant a 3 or a 4 star rating. I'll start by stating the new negatives: 1--Again, I hate to sound like a grumpy old man, but the this place can get too loud. They play Latino music, which I love and fits the atmosphere of this place. However, at some points, they were using some machine that makes a loud, annoying whirring noise (which sounds like nails on a chalk board). To drown it out, they raised the music volume. Unfortunately, it didn't totally mask the whirring machine noise. I should note that when the machine wasn't running, the music was wonderful. 2--Service was slow, especially considering that the restaurant wasn't crowded when we were there. Now for the positives: 1--while slow, the people who work here are very friendly and nice. Our waitress was wonderful, helpful and patient with us (we were a group of 6 people). Also, we weren't rushed. 2--the food is very good. I had the garlic chicken with rice and beans. There were also veggies served with the chicken in the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce was wonderful. I was dipping the garlic bread served on the side. I love garlic, so I was in garlic heaven. The beans were amazingly well-spiced and delicious. My friends enjoyed their food was well. It was definitely worth the wait. 3--the prices are really good, and you get a lot of food for your money. When we saw the bill, my friend thought there was a mistake and it was too low! So, despite the loud, annoying whirring machine, we left El Valle Restaurant happy and full. If you find yourself in this area of the Bronx and have an urge for good, stick-to-your-ribs Dominican food, this place is definitely worth a stop!
