I had an incredible meal with my better half at Elliot’s. It’s hard to be surprised by a great meal in London but this one felt special. There was detail and taste in every dish. My personal favourite was the modest bread dish because this bread might be the most delicious I’ve ever eaten. Warm and soft but crunchy on the outside and SMOKED. Then came the chestnut mushrooms accompanied with an egg yolk, pooled in a sauce that is last supper worthy. The service was cracking and the place was buzzing! Food not great. Potato cake old, tough, tasteless and definitely not freshly made and buttery as expected. Very disappointing. Veggie selection ok but not great. Always a let down when I can make better and more exciting food at home! Friends steak tough and virtually inedible. Roast was apparently good and my friends enjoyed the veggies that went with it. Drink options good, deserts tasty and worth trying. Service fantastic. Atmosphere a little bland. All in all wouldn’t go back again sadly. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Very uninspiring veggie food sadly. Not great combos, not great taste or flavours. Potatoes cake really bad! For me to leave any potato fish uneaten is unheard of! I inhale potatoes! And I left half the dish! And the other half I smothered in salt & mayonnaise to give it some flavour.

A brilliant experience. We sat at the bar and got to see a lot of the action which we value. The bread is to die for and including the Cheese Puffs, packed with flavour, it was a perfect match. We had the asparagus which was cooked to perfection, then the muscles which ofc required more bread to soak up that delicious sauce. Then for our main we ordered the larger steak with peppercorn sauce with chips. Tender, flavoursome and the aioli was perfect to cut through the deep flavours. A delicious meal with great service!
