This was a wonderful evening. I've have been fortunate enough to have dined in some great restaurants all over the world and Estro ranks in the top three that I've been to. The presentation of the food was almost an art form and the flavours delectable. There were a number of other dishes presented as the evening went on which were in addition to our tasting menu items. I was particularly impressed with the waitress looking after us who explained each course in detail; her English was one of the best of any waitress in Hong Kong in a long time. All the staff were attentive, respectful but not intrusive which allowed us to really enjoy the experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was very good and the tables were well spaced apart which meant you could have a good conversation without being disturbed or overheard. The decoration of the restaurant has a simple yet refined, comfortable, elegance to it. The price of the wines were on the high side but I suppose, for such a great food, you should compliment the food with a very good wine. An expensive evening out but well worth it for a very special occasion. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner

After a profoundly disappointing experience at an overrated 3-star establishment the night before, our party of six visited Estro in Central. The contrast was night and day. While the restaurant is tucked away from the main thoroughfare, its location on Duddell Street is incredibly accessible—you reach it immediately after turning in. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the stunning interior design; the carefully curated lighting and elegant decor elements struck the perfect balance between sophisticated luxury and warmth. The culinary execution was just as impressive. The chef brilliantly incorporated local ingredients, substituting traditional scampi with roe-filled local mantis prawn in the linguine—an absolute stroke of genius! The highlight, however, was the signature Bottoni pasta: these "buttons" burst with a rich, savory jus upon the first bite, playfully reminiscent of a Chinese soup dumpling (Xiaolongbao). Paired with an absolutely outstanding red wine, every dish—including the tender Korean abalone with Australian black truffle—was elevated to perfection. Considering the caliber of cuisine and service, the pricing at this Michelin 1-star establishment offers excellent value. The front-of-house team anticipated our needs with a level of hospitality completely lacking in our previous dining experience. Estro pours its heart into every detail. Very classy dining venue despite a modest exterior in an office building. We were hosted to a belated birthday celebration and had the 6 course menu. Dishes were seafood centric with lovely plating of the chef's creations. Service was excellent. Servers were discreet and very attentive yet never intrusive . Meal type: Dinner
