We just went back yesterday, and the quality has gone so much up! It was a pleasant surprise and dining experience yesterday! Both the food and the services were very satisfying! --------- As returning customers, we have always appreciated the dining experiences at this restaurant, located within a prestigious 5-star hotel. Given the setting, one naturally expects a certain standard of service and food quality. In the past, our experiences have reflected that. However, our most recent visit was unfortunately a major disappointment. We ordered a crab cake, priced around USD 20 for a single piece. When it arrived, we were surprised to find that the inside was merely lukewarm rather than hot and melty, as a properly made crab croquette should be. Concerned, we immediately placed the crab cake back onto the plate and informed our server, expecting the restaurant to bring out a freshly prepared replacement — as would be standard in any reputable establishment. Shockingly, instead of a new crab croquette, the kitchen simply re-fried the same crab cake we had already cut into — and returned it to us, now split into four pieces from where we had already touched it with our utensils. While it’s true that high frying temperatures can kill bacteria, it is still highly unsanitary and unprofessional to re-cook and serve food that has already been cut into and potentially contaminated. Moreover, after the re-frying, the crab cake became extremely dry, completely losing its original flavor, juiciness, and texture. Frankly, I cannot understand how any chef — especially one working in a 5-star hotel restaurant — would find this acceptable. Adding to the disappointment, during our meal, our water glasses and wine glasses remained empty for long periods. Servers were standing around chatting instead of observing the dining room and attending to guests' needs. We ended up refilling our own wine and had to request water refills ourselves — something that should be proactively managed at a restaurant of this caliber. We regularly dine at the neighboring restaurants within the same hotel and have never had to ask for such basic services. At this level, attentive service should be the norm, not the exception. It is truly disappointing to witness a restaurant that once delivered excellent experiences fall so short of the standards it is meant to uphold. We sincerely hope that management takes these issues seriously and works to restore the level of quality and service that loyal customers like us have come to expect.
