For context I'm from NY, my father attended then taught at the Culinary Institute of America where he met my mom, and I've been to Italy. I mention all this to add credibility to what I'm about to write. This is the best Italian restaurant my wife and I have ever been to. The food quality, taste, and amount is incredible. We had no wait on a Friday night and enjoyed a nice breeze off the water with the overhead doors open. Service was amazing and we didn't feel pressure to order alcohol when we opted to enjoy our meal with San Pellegrino. Even the bread and Parmesan cheese for the table were outstanding. Highly recommend and will return anytime visiting Boston. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40

Incredibly attentive staff kept our waters full and checked on us regularly. The gnocchi was soft and tasty, but the meat sauce was just okay. The mushroom side dish was flavorful. The chocolate lava cake was inhaled and enjoyed by all of us. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

As we entered the city I noticed Filippo Ristorante & Bar. I love authentic Italian food and I had a feeling that this place would not disappoint! I was eager to try their food so my family and decided to dine in. The restaurant is very cozy with limited seating and reservations are needed. We did not know that we needed a reservation so I’m beyond grateful that the owner still allowed us to dine in with a party of 5. His only rule, that we give the restaurant a 5 star rating! If I could, I would give it 10 stars! The manager was very pleasant and allowed us time to look over the menu. The customer service was 10/10! From the moment we sat down to the time we left we had no complaints. When we sat down we were greeted with their olive oil herb bread dipping sauce. It was delicious! The bread had the perfect amount of crunch to it. Next we placed our order and within 10 -15 minutes our food was in front of us! We ordered the following: Lasanga Lucia Cotoletta Parmigiana Pasta e Fagioli Gnocchi Bolognese Everything was very flavorful. The food was hands down 10/10! At the end, the manager surprised us with a sweet Italian treat, pizzelles. It was the perfect way to end our dinner and a perfect way to end our first trip to Boston!
