Food is simple, traditional Thai but good. Nice place to watch the football and have sometimes different to most pub food Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The food is fantastic. Particularly the Gaeng Kiew Wa and Gaeng Pet. A great range of beers too. One of the best bars in Balham, consistently great. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

We've been coming to Firefly for over a year. Normally it's great. A nice selection of beers and great food with good service. Unfortunately, tonight was very different. When we arrived at around 8:50 we asked whether we could have food and set up a tab after I ordered drinks. After we decided what we wanted to eat, I tried to get the server's attention multiple times, but he ignored us. He was fine serving others though. Never mind, I ordered food at the bar. At no point were we told that there would be a wait on the food. We waited a long time for the starters to arrive, seeing people's food who seemed to order after us arrive first. These things happen. When the food arrived, I said thanks. No response from the server, very cold. Never mind, perhaps they're having a bad day. After we finished our food, he cleared the plates away, again I said thank you and again, no response. We then wait, for ages. Over half an hour. No one says anything about a wait. Then other people who have ordered after us, their food comes out before us again. Someone who ordered take out just 15 mins before, their food comes out. We're waiting, and waiting. Eventually, we get fed up. I go and settle our tab, paying for everything, except the service charge. The food is arrives after I've paid and the server confronts me. Although he offers to box it for us, we've been waiting so long and we're so fed up that we just want to leave. I explain that we've been waiting for so long and that we haven't been told that there would be any wait. He told me that it was my fault for arriving close to the end of service. What did I expect. Maybe to be told. I am left so frustrated and annoyed by this. It would have been so easy to just have said sorry about the wait, what can we do? Instead, we were made to feel that this was our fault. I've always loved coming here. I recommend it to friends. I can't see myself ever coming back. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
