Well, this Father’s Day at the First Watch on Beltline in Addison was just a delight followed by more delight. When I first arrived, super friendly and welcoming EJ (Eric) met me at the door, warning me the wait would be 20-30 minutes, which was no big deal. Imagine my surprise when we were seated just 5 minutes later! Then, Server-To-The-Stars, Nicole, swept us off our feet, both with her great service and winning demeanor. She was fun, friendly, and served up just the right amount of sass. Our food was superb, the atmosphere convivial, and service the picture of efficiency, which was magnificent at brunch on a busy Father’s Day. Bravo, Nicole, EJ, and the team!

I had head great things about this restaurant so I decided to patronize it. Upon my entrance, I was greeted warmly by the staff, so I was immediately impressed, but things gradually went down hill. First, I ordered a meal that was supposed to come with a protein, and the main entree, and I ordered an additional side (which I was prepared to pay for) but my waiter, failed to bring me my protein. He stated "he thought I wanted to substitute my protein for the side dish" and I told him no, I wanted both. Then he brought me a plate of 4 turkey sausage which 1 was burnt, and the remaining 3 were overly cooked, via microwaved. Once he saw me taking pictures, he brought me another plate of undercooked sausage, then once I received my check, I was charged $4.99 for a side that should have come with my meal (sausage). Although, the manage apologized for the mishap, he offered to adjust my total by $.40 which he states would have been the difference, I told him I would pay the original price, and the manager gave me a coupon to a BOGO meal, but in my opinion, I believe he should have comped me for the meal entirely. Nonetheless, and paid, I tipped (according to the service, but I still tipped) but, I will not visit this location ever again. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

The new Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast is a thrill with a perfect texture and taste and I savored every bite. It has a dulce tres leches sauce which is like caramel, so I didn't add syrup. We also loved the Ham and Gruyere Melt - great bread. For a drink I had the Purple Haze. My wife loved the taste of the coffee, which they also sell. Great and helpful service, reasonable prices. You pay by scanning a QR code on the receipt, which takes you to the Up 'n Go site used by many restaurants. The tip is calculated pre-tax which is nice. I forgot to add my email address, so be sure to do that if you want your receipt also emailed. Highly recommended. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
