I was here for business. It was great that what I was in town for was also happening in the Fluno Center. They have parking underneath, the staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was great, and the rooms were comfortable. Another benefit is it is right in the heart of downtown Madison, lots of options for food and entertainment just outside the doors. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope to have business in the area again that brings me to the Fluno Center Service: 5

Great for hosting a continuous education program. The rooms were clean. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable.

I stayed at the Fluno Center during UW-Madison's SOAR orientation and Graduation weekend in a Double Queen Room. The South View overlooks Witte, Gordon Dining, the Nic. The North View overlooks University Ave and is across the street from Wando's and Double U. I have stayed at Union South's hotel and prefer the Fluno Center because of it's proximity to State Street/Capitol square restaurants/bars and Kohl Center. Breakfast was included at Fluno Center and overnight self-parking in their garage is less than what the nearby hotel chains charge. Smitty's Pub on the 8th floor opens at 4pm and is a hidden gem with it's views, happy hour specials and pool table. I appreciated the disclosure note on every table that stated that their staff are paid fair wages and cannot accept gratuity and if left, will go to charity. Service was slow and inattentive despite it not being busy. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom is dated. The wall hair dryer was not good, and I eventually noticed the discretely labeled hairdryer in the bottom drawer under the TV. It might be better to put a sign in the bathroom so guests know where to look for the additional hairdryer. Overall, the Fluno Center hotel is a great place to stay! In addition to campus visits, SOAR, graduation, and game weekends, I highly recommend it's location especially if your student lives in the downtown, State, Langdon area. Lastly, Karla, a manager is wonderful. I had a situation with my booking and was incredibly touched by her customer-service and help. She really cares about guest experiences at the Fluno Center.
