Stopped in for lunch today after a horse drawn trolley tour of historic Wilmington. Ar the end of our tour I asked our tour guide to recommended a local spot for lunch. She quickly suggested the Fork N Cork which was just a block up from the drop off point for the trolley. Our party of 6, two of which have just turned 90, arrived and we were quickly seated and our server took our drink order. The vibe is very relaxed almost Irish pub like but with a very nice industrial touch. The wall was lined with a beautiful assortment of modern stained glass industrial panels that are tastefully back lit. They have a very nice assortment of beers and ciders. The food was...fantastic. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with a texas inspired poutine that had brisket and a fantastic bbq sauce. The portions were huge and everything came out piping hot. 10 minutes into our meal the Chef Justin came out and gave us a passionate explanation of his cooking process. You could immediately tell that his love and pride goes into his food. House made bread, locally sourced ingredients are big in his house. The chicken sandwich was out of this world and the poutine...I ate it all and boxed the rest of my sandwich... half of which was still as big as any sandwich. Chef was nice enough to bring me out a half quart if his fig based sauce, on the house, which will go into my dry rubbed pork tenderloin for tonight's dinner. If you are in Wilmington do yourself a favor and stop in at the Fork N Cork. You will not be disappointed. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
