Great food, even tho menu is similar to most other cafes, they do it in a better way/ usually add some better elements. I’m just annoyed they stopped doing the potato gratin for their Benedict. Good food though, and u can taste the diff even when comparing to the LaManna breakfast. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I had been to the airport to pick up our daughter and stopped at Essendon Fields on the way home. It was early morning and we needed a coffee and something to eat so we stopped here planning on just picking up something and continuing on our way. I misunderstood, we ended up changing our minds and staying. The service was fantastic and the food and coffee was really good, highly recommend going here. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A new café on the foodie scene is Friction located at Essendon Fields in Essendon. It has a modern interior with lovely table and chairs.Everything looked great on the menu and it was hard to choose what we would like to eat. We decided on the Waffles, the Smashed Avo with added egg and bacon and the Corn and Zucchini Fritters with added salmon. The Smashed Avo was a generous serving size and great value for money. And it was delish! The Corn and Zucchini fritters was lovely and light with delicious fresh flavours. The Waffles smelt great! We couldn’t wait to enjoy start eating those. The ice-cream didn’t melt so we could enjoy them after eating our other dishes. The Waffles were really good and we loved the hazelnut chocolate flavour.The café was easy to find and there is plenty of parking. We felt it had a nice relaxing environment and the staff were very friendly. The food was great tasting and well presented.We thank Friction Essendon for a lovely Saturday morning breakfast. All of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.
