I’m an American and I travel to Tokyo frequently. Lately, I’ve been trying to explore restaurants that aren’t touristy. I happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to try Fudan. At first, I was a little intimidated since the entire menu was in Japanese - but that’s what I wanted haha. The restaurant is very small and intimate, and I was the only foreigner there. The man working couldn’t have been nicer—we communicated using Google Translate. I ordered the curry lamb with rice and accidentally ordered the oysters as well since I pointed to the wrong item! They ended up being really good. The customer sitting next to me asked how I had found the place, and we all had a good laugh together. Everyone in the restaurant was incredibly welcoming. This is hip but cozy local restaurant which has many young ppl stop by even in the late Sunday night- all locals but the food is amazing and the boss is very friendly. You can pay by Apple Pay but no English menu so you have to translate by yourself! I had beer , curry rice an fried chicken! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000
