Cole, I hear your disappointment, and I’m sorry this left you frustrated. I would, however, like to clarify one detail. The butter served with our bread board is not standard table butter. It is a recipe we prepare in-house with roasted garlic and fresh herbs, and we batch it specifically to be paired with each sourdough boule. That is why we don’t typically have additional portions of the prepared butter available—it is not because we are concerned about wasting butter. While the 1/4-cup portion is almost always plenty for this appetizer, we certainly could have offered you additional plain butter when you requested more. I’m sorry that option wasn’t provided to you. Our intention was never to be unaccommodating, and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify what makes this particular butter part of the bread board itself.
