Giselda is a very typical Roman spot with several different sections under one roof. As you can see in the photos, there is a deli area with cured meats and cheeses, a counter with large slices of pizza and other savory options, and a separate café and pastry section with plenty of cakes, desserts and sweet treats. It’s convenient if everyone in your group wants something different. The food itself was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Everything tasted fine and the quality was decent, although I felt the prices were a little high for what you actually get. It’s one of those places that attracts a lot of people because of its location rather than because it’s an exceptional culinary experience. The only downside for me was the older gentleman serving in the savory food section. I found him rather arrogant, and I couldn’t help noticing that he seemed much friendlier and more attentive with Italian customers than with tourists. The difference in attitude was quite noticeable and made the experience less pleasant. Overall, it’s a perfectly acceptable place to stop for a quick bite or a coffee, especially if you’re nearby and want plenty of choice. Just don’t expect anything extraordinary. Good variety, decent food, but slightly overpriced and with service that could definitely be warmer and more welcoming to everyone. One thing that is worth mentioning is the access to the restroom. The stairs leading down require a key from the staff, and they are extremely steep and quite slippery. If you need to use the bathroom, be especially careful, particularly if you’re carrying bags or wearing shoes with little grip. It definitely feels like an area that could be made safer.
