Always great food and wonderful waitstaff. A must-dine in PVD! I’ve had many dishes here that I will talk about for a lifetime. Enjoy. —- In a hidden corner of the city, there lies a restaurant where every meal is a poem, every dish a verse. The tasting menu, a journey through flavors, surprised and delighted. Yet, it was the bread that told the most profound story. Golden, warm, and lovingly crafted, the bread was an unexpected hero, a testament to simple perfection. Each bite revealed the secrets of time and care, a humble offering that elevated the entire experience. Service here is an art, attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel cherished and at ease. Each course, a dance of flavors, was served with grace and precision. My mom bought me a gift certificate for the tasting menu at Gracie's for Christmas and we finally got around to using it for my birthday. We waffled over the 5 course or the 7, but the truth is, I don't love fois gras, so it felt wasteful to splurge and the 5 course was CERTAINLY enough food. Because it was my birthday, they brought over a little Prosecco toast and had a card and some confetti on the table which is always an excellent touch. The cocktail menu was VERY interesting and in spite of the fact that we opted for the wine pairing with our meal, I couldn't help myself but try the tequila drink with red miso (!!). I don't know that I would order it again, but it was provocative. Bread was brought to the table which consisted of a fluffy focaccia with an onion jam, and a pumpkin muffin with Malden sea salt butter. We had a tuna crudo for the first course which was just lovely, with celery oil and green apple. This was followed by a startlingly amazing gnocchi with lamb. You always think when you go to an upscale Italian restaurant that you're going to get perfect gnocchi, but this was.... The pillow soft potato pasta of my dreams. It was the shining star of the meal for me. The third course was a bouillabaisse which under any other circumstance would've been amazing, but fell flat after the punchy gnocchi dish. The palate cleanser they brought was a citrus-fennel-mint sorbet spoon that I could imagine myself eating every day for the rest of my life. Or topping with a bubbly float. Fourth was a delicious duck dish with turnip and cranberry that I would order as a standalone dish. This was followed by a wonderful chocolate dessert. Service was gracious and the wine knowledge of our server made the experience extra fun. This is definitely the place to go for special night out in Providence.
