If you live in Seattle or are just visiting, you absolutely have to check out Grain House. It has easily become one of my favorite local spots, and the overall vibe makes you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. Whenever I go, I always get the Chicken Katsu. It is the ultimate comfort food but served as a perfectly balanced meal. You get a generous portion of crispy, golden chicken for your protein, a fresh house-made salad for your fiber, and a comforting scoop of classic white rice. What truly takes this dish to the next level is their incredible house sauce poured right over the carbohydrates.The Chicken Katsu tastes absolutely delicious, and it is one of those rare, satisfying meals that just hits your stomach perfectly without leaving you feeling weighed down. Grain House is iconic, every time I go there I want to try something new but I always get a Mexican Bubble Roll with miso soup, which they bring out within like 15 seconds. I also love the In Charge Roll, Tiger Roll, O***** Roll, tofu pho, fresh rolls/spring rolls, tofu bahn mi, everything here is amazing. Sitting in this restaurant is always really pleasant, the staff members are super nice, and they keep it warm inside so it’s a really nice place to go when you’ve been outside for a while during the cold months! This is genuinely my favorite restaurant ever. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It’s a nice little establishment with decent sushi prices, especially compared to the other competition in the area. Wait times were a little long, but that could’ve just been because I came on Valentine’s Day and they seemed a bit short-staffed. Nonetheless, it was a nice experience and I’ll probably be back to try other menu items. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
