The matcha latte with cheese foam top was delicious, but the stand out for me was the Matcha Basque cheesecake. I’ve never tasted anything like it. I stopped by on the way to Canada from Portland and there was plenty of parking on the Ave before 9 AM. I was the only customer. The bathrooms upstairs are nice. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great place to get matcha around UW/Seattle! Large place to sit down and work/study. They have small pastries and of course lots of matcha options! The drink wasn’t too sweet and had strong matcha taste! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I'm glad you loved it, Alex! When we opened this cafe, we knew we wanted to create a space where students can freely hang, study, and catch up with friends. We also love, love, love a matcha-forward drink so I'm glad you loved that as well. Come back anytime, Alex!

I stopped at Grean Matcha after passing by from the bus stop. I walked in and was immediately welcomed. I’m pretty new and uniformed about matcha. Steven talked me through the differences in their drink selection, including the reasons for the names, flavors, and amount of caffeine. I already had a coffee before getting there, so I went with the Uji Hojicha for a bit less caffeine. It tasted great to me. While I’m not someone generally versed in flavor profiles, there was enough doubt in flavor I found myself present and noticing the different notes as I sipped. Bigger than the drink, though, the energy of the team was wonderful. Even as I threw my cup away and walked out, the staff wished me a good day by name. It’s small, but for a moment, I felt like I was in a community space that valued my patronage beyond a normal, rehearsed goods exchange. Makes me wish they were my local tea vendor in a small community I could stop by as I get my bread from the local baker and meat from the local butcher. 5s across the board. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Other Price per person: $1–10

I'm glad you loved the drink and I'm glad you pointed out that you're not someone who typically is "versed" in flavor profiles ~ and that's totally welcomed!! A BIG reason for opening this shop was to spread the joy and fun of exploring different matcha/hojicha selections and introduce folks to enjoy it in a way that is fun and welcoming.You are always welcomed back whenever you come in again for work (hopefully not another cancelled meeting haha), we'd love to have you in again anytime!Cheers!
