Sometimes, cheaper isn't better, especially when it comes to seafood like raw fish. But Hikaru rejects that stereotype. I was a bit nervous at first - at $3.90 a plate, what if portions were small or the fish is bad? But everything here tasted fresh and honestly pretty luxurious for the price point. Chefs were making fresh nigiris for tables if you order online, otherwise if you're like me, you can grab whichever sushi is on the conveyor belt for the full experience It's honestly rare for sushi to actually be on the train nowadays, even in Japan due to concerns over hygiene. But customers (and staff) here are pretty polite and everything is well-maintained Springvale really is a foodie hub with wonderful offers for Vietnamese, Malaysian, and - as I discovered today - Japanese cuisine! My favourite sushi would have to be the grilled ika geso and any of the spicy options honestly. One thing to improve for the restaurant: please make the pickled ginger come in tubs to scoop out of rather than packets to reduce environmental waste and for ease of use.
