Friday night at HUMA - TacoDay & More was one of them. Our visit devolved into a shouting match on the sidewalk between a 75yo man, the “Manager”, and my wife.
50 min wait to get in (when we were told 20 min) was the least terrible thing that occurred.
Twice we waited 25min for a round of drinks. To put that into context, we were only there for two hours. For 50 minutes of those two hours we had either no drink in front of us, or empty glasses.
We complained to no less than 4 separate staff members about the service issues, was laughed at by one of them, and another made a face at me when I turned around to go back to my table.
We paid for your food. We did NOT pay for your 20% autograt, and not paying that is not "theft under $5000." I hope when the cops showed up that they explained the law to you. Also, I had every intention of paying the full 20%, but YOU refused my method of payment. I understand you are busy, it’s Friday. But being busy does not mean you get to provide shitty service. Being busy means you need to hire more, and better, serving staff.
I understand that this isn't a fancy joint, and that service expectations should be kept to a minimum, but this was easily the worst service I have ever experienced in Edmonton. And if we are supposed to keep expectations low, due to the style of dinning, why is the Auto Gratuity 10% higher than a 3 Michelin starred restaurant in the heart of Napa Valley?
