We stayed in the hotel and walked into the bar to see what it's like, not knowing anything about the hammet's brand. We were blown away. Starting with exquisite cocktails in velvet loungers overlooking the harbour, we then enjoyed a dinner beyond our (pretty lofty) expectations. All the dishes were incredibly flavoured, with textures weaved in to keep the intrigue. The beef shin is perhaps the nicest dish I've had at any restaurant and I would travel exclusively to enjoy this again. Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience is calm yet edgy. When I found out that it had only been open two weeks I needed to scoop my jaw off the floor as it made no sense and neither did the (very reasonable) bill. Hammett's Monastik is a must visit if you are in the area, or even if you aren't! Congratulations to the kitchen and front of house teams, and I hope the full launch is a triumph to match our incredible experience.
