Good Morning Lourens. We are sorry that you feel that our sausage rolls are expensive. Our cold sausage rolls retail at £2.35 each and for a hot one £2.82. Our sausage rolls are made from scratch in our bakery using the best ingredients. We mince our own beef for the sausages and make our own flaky puff pastry. All of our savouries are freshly baked each morning and delivered to our shops. If our customers wish a hot savoury they are re-heated in each shop to maintain their quality, however, by doing this we are legally obliged to pay an extra 20% Government VAT, hence the difference in price between a hot and cold sausage roll. We obviously do not benefit from the 20% tax. All of our products are carefully costed from the ingredients used to the resources needed to make them. Our aim is to deliver the best quality products at all times and we hope that this information will go some way in explaining our making and costing processes. Best wishes from the HGB team
