For years i’ve heard nothing but good reviews about Hey Jupiter but unfortunately, my first hand experience was nothing but disappointment. Upon arrival the service felt unwelcoming and frankly severely disinterested. I booked over two weeks in advance and even with several other tables free they shoved us directly in front of the cold entry way. They almost immediately started rushing us to order even though we hadn’t even started looking at their insanely large drink and food menus. Once we did order, I will admit that the first course of bread, French butter, Cold meats, oysters and Cheeses was great. Unfortunately when our mains came out, (despite how pretty they looked) we were severely dissatisfied with the flavours. Both were very bland and tasted almost identical, even despite them being totally different dishes; beef bourguignon and french onion soup. Which are both usually very flavourful dishes. We also ordered a salad on the side with Goats cheese and Beetroot, which was disgusting. The beetroot itself tasted canned and mushy whilst the rest tasted like cooking oil, not olive oil, but frying oil. The vibe of the venue was lovely but both the food and the service made it not worth it. I don’t think i’ll come back again and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values good food and good service. Great food, service and atmosphere from Victor and co. Particularly enjoyed the cassoulet - a classic plat Français. Will definitely be back again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: A$40–60
