I stayed at this location in the past it used to be a Granduca, which was very well managed. More recently I stayed here as the Viata it was just OK. I gave them slack to do the transition. During this trip, I was staying over at the Barton Creek Omni hotel resort and spa. I should have remained there. It was $100 more night. I should’ve paid it. This time I’ll never come back to the Viata. Why? Downhill it went! Filthy carpets. Biological matter on the walls over the bed I had to clean that myself. The male staffer at the Laurel restaurant serve men first and are rude and condescending to women. Including his colleague. My order was given to the male guest as I was there and ordered before he even arrived. My food came out poorly cooked, uncooked dough pancakes sent back, egg burned around the edges. Ate the egg and scratched the pancakes. Who wants to be treated disrespectfully? They still charged me four dollars for the egg and four dollars for a cuppa coffee that was so acidic you couldn’t drink it. The female staffer apologized. To be honest given the situation, I was pretty shocked they presented me with a bill for a burnt egg and undrinkable coffee. I had to unload my luggage myself a heavy suitcase as I’m staying five days. I fully expect I have to load my own luggage when I leave. The blow dryer in the room is literally disintegrating and unusable. I always have my own, but somehow I forgot it this time. The furniture in room 414 is tattered , filthy coming apart. Torn fringe and unsightly. Uncomfortable! If I had to find something good to say, The bathroom is spacious and the hotel has a good location. Next to Apple office. Very disappointing and to be honest, you will actually have better service, food, cleanliness and professionalism at a two star or three star hotel, like an embassy suites, or Courtyard by Marriott. The management need to upgrade / change their standards for the hotel and employee engagement or relations. One exception, the young gentleman that checked me in was very friendly, although stressed. And after complaining about carpets they sprayed them with an odor to mask the old smell. But did nothing to “clean” them. On check in asked for an upgrade and the nice guy at the desk was accommodating. But I think I got downgraded because of the condition of the room. Another thing room 414 is at the end of the hall next to the ice machine, Service compartments, and it’s loud and noisy all day long due to the cleaning crews. Which basically spent all day talking. I’m actually still here I’m considering checking out losing my money, and returning to the Omni. Thanks. Service: 1

Great location, Staff, Amenities and Food. The locations is really great, nice views, close to almost every thing in Austin. The pool, restaurant and bar are great. The on-site food is really really good. Staff were very nice, welcoming and helpful. Parking is very convenient at the garage or valet. Location was safe and secure. Unfortunately, certain issues kept me from giving it 5 stars. The rooms are dated, need a refresh. Things like seeing room service items sitting in the hallway for a day is not ideal. They also didn’t adhere to some of my booking notes, and left a bottle of wine when we said we don’t drink. It’s the little things that can take this resort to the next level. Service: 5

My little family enjoyed our stay at Hotel Viata. The staff was extra nice and a big shout out to Ms. Teri and Drew who really made us feel welcome even though we were sort of country come to town. Very nice place, bathroom doors don’t offer a lot of privacy but that’s about all we saw that we would have changed. The carpet looked a little rough in our room also. But that’s minor stuff that’s certainly not a deal breaker. Definitely a great place to stay, with excellent staff and service. Would definitely recommend. Safety: Felt very safe here at all times, wasn’t worried about anything. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view
