My children and I have stayed at Medio Mundo several times. The hotel is a beautiful historic house in the center of Mérida. It is very well restored and equipped to receive guests. The breakfast is delicious, even without being vegetarians. I will soon travel to Mérida and I wanted to book but apparently it is closed, can you tell me the reason and until when? Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Hello. Thank you for your interest and kind comments. We have sold the hotel and the new owners are renovating it. Unfortunately, there is no set date for reopening yet.

Visited here in Sept. of 2015 with my fiancee; just travelling through Merida, and staying for one night. This is one of those hotels that don't look like much from the street (although I like the colorful facade), but once you're on the inside it's like stepping into an oasis. The rates were very reasonable, especially because it was low season, but I believe their rates are affordable year round. Our room was very spacious, clean and with a view to the atrium garden. The wonderful Merida Restaurant Chaya Maya is within walking distance from this hotel, and that's were we had our dinner, before returning to the hotel. A vegan breakfast was included at the hotel next morning, and although I'm not a vegetarian, I thought it was very good. The hotel is run by a very nice couple, and they make you feel very welcome. We enjoyed Nelson's (one of the owners) conversation while we had breakfast; in fact he was very funny. We're going back to Yucatan in a few weeks, and will likely pass through Merida again. If so, we're definitely staying at Hotel MedioMundo.
