We were there again on Christmas Eve and overall we were very satisfied. But what we noticed was that there was no champagne for breakfast on Christmas Day (it was Christmas after all) and the scrambled eggs were made from powder and not fresh eggs. (Not possible at all). !!! As always, the rooms were very quiet and very clean, but unfortunately the bathroom was too cold in the morning. The service was, as always, very good, but we missed the small bottles of water as a gift when we left. We had the impression that certain things were being cut back on, and we don't like that. We were allowed to stay with our dog in apartment 408 of hotel Watthalden in Ettlingen for two weeks. The hotel has very friendly and helpful staff at the reception, during breakfast and in cleaning. The care was excellent! Now back home with a nice memory. Rooms: The apartment with balcony was large and equipped with the necessary facilities. Excellent beds. Nearby activities: We had a great time there with a good base for trips by car or bicycle in the Black Forest. Food & drinks: Every morning a well cared for and extensive breakfast. There are also several dining options within walking distance in the immediate vicinity. Noteworthy details: Free parking in front of the hotel is sometimes a bit difficult because the parking lot was also used by visitors of an adjacent restaurant. The hotel also has a spacious underground parking garage for a fee. As a tip, we would like to give a discount on parking, especially for longer stays.
