Yesterday I was in a store and the employee (claimed to be manager) highly discriminated against myself and my service dog upon checkout. Verbal harassment, embarrassment, encouragement for other customers to join in and physical threats followed. He told not to go back into the store with her and repeatedly demanded her paperwork. This demand alone is illegal. I'm at a loss. It's way far beyond an upset customer thing.
Gypsy is a rescue that saved me and is a 'service dog' conversationally if asked. The depth of it is that she is specifically trained to sense panic attacks and was reviewed by a licensed Psychologist that works with me for her proper certification.
These discriminations have to stop. These animals have voices, they have feelings, pains, injuries, joys, sorrows AND most importantly......they know what's being said about them. My girls name came with her, but all rescues are gypsies somewhat. The backgrounds that they came from are sometimes unbearable to hear and they have no way to change it alone. We have to let it be known that they have voices and only the owner can be it. The discrimination towards them is not conveyed enough.
