The fish is fresh or it isn't in the case. If he has scallops, buy them because they will not last past a day. The manager/owner has a wealth of tips for cooking fish.

Thank g@d I finally got a real seafood meal from a place without cliche T-shirts and dollars stapled to the wall. Tiny place that has only 1 table inside and 1 outside. Not a destination for atmosphere. All about the food! Prices were low-avg but entrees were HUGE and flavorful and fresh. Cut the fish from behind the glass. Got the impression the owner intends to expand the seating. He appears to have a culinary degree as well. Rare tuna steak must've been a pound and had seaweed salad, a corn salad, and some kind of potato. Wife had market catch that was seasoned to perfection. Even the kids meal had smoked chicken that was moist and ridiculously good!
