I love this place (when they are not under construction). Great food, great flavors, nice environment and friendly staff. We throughly enjoy this place for a sunset dinner and then a walk on the beach afterwards. We live in Lahaina and this is one of our favorites.

Japengo restaurant is a waterfront restaurant on the property of the lovely Hyatt hotel. Service and ambiance was great. My husband ordered some sushi and pork buns and loved his meal. I'm vegan and ordered the tofu veggie stir fry and the spicy eggplant side dish. Sadly the flavors for both were not very tasty. This is why I removed a star from this review. They give soy sauce on the side, but it still left me disappointed.
