Java House Karen: where the food is decent, the toilets are aggressively unpleasant, and patience is mandatory. Ordered based on the menu photos, which I now realize were taken with a wide-angle lens and a healthy dose of optimism. My plate arrived looking like it had been portioned by someone on a strict "leave them wanting more" diet. The food itself? Fine. Tasty, even. Just... more of a preview than a meal. Then there's the bathroom. Like every other Java location, it smells like it's held a grudge against ventilation since opening day. Bring your own oxygen tank, or just hold it — I believe in you. Service was slow, but in fairness, the place was PACKED, so I'll allow it. Nothing like waiting 25 minutes for a small plate of food while breathing through your mouth. Would I go back? Probably, because I hate myself. Bring a fan for the bathroom and a snack for the car ride home. Price per person: KES 2,000–2,500 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

There's some sitting spots outside that really dont work especially when its chilly. Your food gets cold so fast and you start getting cold as well. Price per person: KES 1,500–2,000
