Not the best food and we waited about 30 mins for it to come out. The turkey chop that my husband ordered was cold in the middle and it seemed like they poured hot gravy on top. The cornbread was Jiffy and wasn’t warm at all. Mac n chz was definitely lack luster. Felt like they scraped the last of the pan. Salmon croquette was VERY salty and the cabbage was bland. My husband sent back his food and didn’t order anything else. We left and he ordered from Jive Turkey up the street. We won’t go back to J’s. J's Cafe is a Westside, no a Detroit staple. Same great breakfast spanning decades. In the same location now in an update and expanded building. More room for dinning while maintaining the same great experience. The pancakes are hot and the coffee is hotter. So next time you're on the Westsiiiiiide stop in and have breakfast just like mom used to make.
