I was at the box hill store during an online system outage today. There were 10-20 customers gathered around the storefront, hungry and in a rush to catch PTV. None of our orders had gone through the system. Young Shanty stepped up to the plate. He calmly ascertained the problem and escalated it to his manager. He then spoke up to the crowd, politely but confidently explaining the problem and the plan. He demonstrated problem-solving and leadership as he started writing down each customer’s order by hand, coordinating refunds as needed, and collaborating with other team members to ensure everything got done in a timely manner. It’s unusual that my server at kfc ever wishes me a good day/night or says anything other than my number when I collect my order, so this was really stand out customer service. Well done to the entire team! (Shanty, sorry if I spelled your name wrong, but you should show this to your future prospective employer. They’d be lucky to have you). Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–20
