Disappointing Experience at KFC Wattala – Poor Quality and Rude Service I recently purchased two promotional 8-piece chicken buckets from KFC Wattala, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. The quality of the food was far below expectations. The chicken was completely tasteless — it felt more like boiled meat with a bland, dry coating. Each bucket contained 4 legs, 1 wing, and 3 other random pieces, which seemed carelessly packed without any thought to balance or quality. It was difficult to even finish the meal due to the lack of flavour and poor texture. I reached out to KFC’s hotline and was directed to their wattala area manager, Mr. Mohamed Shard. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he responded dismissively and insisted there was no problem with the food. His tone was unprofessional and rude. While he offered a discount for a future purchase, I declined — the issue was not about compensation but about principle and customer respect. For many customers, including children and families, a treat like KFC is a special experience. It’s disheartening to see how such promotions can compromise quality, leaving people who save up for a meal like this feeling cheated. Worse, many may not even be aware they have the right to complain. This was a complete waste of money and time, and I felt compelled to share this so others are aware. The food quality was unacceptable, and the customer service was even worse. I hope KFC Sri Lanka takes this feedback seriously and improves both their product standards and how they treat their customers. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
