Waited 30 minutes for the restaurant to open. But it's really worth the wait. The overall experience was good as you get to watch them prepare the food, and the food is really delicious!! Price per person: RM 20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Nanban, Mental Cream Udon, Gyoza, Eggplant Stir Fry Pork Rice

Despite the queue, which was a lil more than an hour. My expectations for this place were rather high given the crowd and the reviews here on the food. The atmosphere was hot. Given that we’re sat opposite the cooking area. Out of their dishes impressed me. Which was their tamago and tori nanban. However we ordered a variety of dishes that day. And I can say my dining experience was a lil more disappointing as those two dishes were served first and then the following dishes were pretty meh. Good to visit for the alternative dining experience but definitely not the kinda vibe. Price per person: RM 40–60 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Recommended dishes: Chicken Nanban

Me and my bf came to kofuku multiple times, my fav is the salmon chazuke and their sashimi selections are so fresh. Their daily specials never fail to surprise and impressed us. So flavourful. Would've given a 5 star and visit more often if it was not due to the long wait times. Other than that would def recc, one of the best japanese restaurant in penang!! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
