This is my favorite place to sushi. I love the concept of the place, it's like a small and cozy sushi bar in the center of Tokyo, the food is delicious, feels fresh and the prices are quite reasonable. The place is quite popular and always busy, so be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated at a table. My favorite place for kaiten sushi (conveyor belt sushi) is Kaisen Kaiten Sushi Bar! This actually might be my favorite for quality and affordable sushi too! Been coming here for over a decade. I would go out of my way to come here. Don't think this place is talked about enough. They have some sushi on the conveyor belt which I grab sometimes, but most of the ones I want aren't on the belt so I just order them. I kind of like it more this way since you don't know how long the sushi has been on the belt for. I like to order Unagi, Seared Mayo Sake, Shiro Maguro, Saba, Hamachi and Half Order Crunchy Roll. I don't have a favorite here, I just like everything. You write your table number, order on a piece of paper and put it in a cup on the belt. As the paper moves down the belt, the chefs will take the paper and make your order. When your order is ready, it will make its way back on the belt with your table number to get to you. Then just make sure you're watching the belt as it's moving so you can grab your food when it reaches you. Each plate is a different color indicating the price which is counted up at the end by a server. I'm always leaving here satisfied. I think the quality of the sushi here is great and consistent, better and cheaper than Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. I like the idea of ordering by pieces or half rolls because I get full easily yet I want to try everything and it's still affordable. I would say the quality here might just be a step up from AYCE sushi spots and going here for me is cheaper than going to an AYCE sushi spot unless you are someone that eats a lot a lot and I'd say I can eat a good amount! I prefer these type of sushi spots over fine dining sushi because I can't afford to eat expensive sushi on the regular! Price is fair! It's located in a big shopping plaza with a free parking lot so no issues finding parking. It can get pretty busy during prime hours. If I go during prime time I usually wait 30 minutes, I guess not terribly bad but I think wait could be longer than that depending on when you go. I don't think they take reservations or Yelp waitlist. Service is friendly but you don't interact with the servers much since most of your orders are placed with the belt unless you order something that needs to be sent to the kitchen! This place is casual but full service. Now, why do they have three and a half stars? I'm not sure haha, I think maybe people come here expecting fine dining quality sushi for cheap and get disappointed. It should have at least four stars. If you come here, set your expectations because that's not what you're getting. You come here to get the most bang for your buck. I think that if you have such a refined palate and you think the quality of AYCE sushi spots are bad, then don't come here because the sushi here is just one step above AYCE sushi quality, not fine dining.
