Hi Catherine, we’re very sorry you were unhappy with your experience. We take our responsibility to accommodate legitimate service animals very seriously and do so often. There are several details about the interaction that are not reflected in your review above. Our staff was attempting to follow health and safety requirements while addressing the situation with the dog, including the request to feed the dog food at the table/ at the stroller. As from the health department we have talked to the head named Scott Aiken who has helped us understand the rules better and he explained to us that service dogs are not to eat or drink in the restaurant. New York State Health Department guidance also distinguishes service animals from companion/emotional-support animals. Companion dogs are not permitted in indoor restaurant dining areas, while guide, hearing and service dogs are treated differently. Our staff was trying to address these issues appropriately and respectfully. Unfortunately, the interaction also involved a disagreement with another patron that became confrontational. We do our best to provide a welcoming environment for everyone as we are a family restaurant and we cannot allow inappropriate behavior toward other guests or our staff. We regret that you left unhappy, but we stand by our staff's efforts to handle the situation while balancing the needs of all of our customers and our health and safety responsibilities.
