Best kebab in Cardiff, so flavoursome and tender. Really good value aswell and friendly service. The homous, fresh naan and soups were also very good Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was really looking forward to visiting Erbil Restaurant, especially as someone who is Kurdish, but unfortunately my experience was genuinely disappointing and underwhelming. For a restaurant that presents itself as Kurdish, there was very little that reflected that identity inside. I expected at least some cultural touches or décor, but there was nothing that made it feel distinct or representative. The complimentary soup served before ordering was nice, and the kebab my friends and I had was enjoyable as well. However, aside from that, the overall experience didn’t stand out. The atmosphere also felt very male-dominated, which made it seem less welcoming for families or mixed groups. On a Friday night on City Road, the restaurant was nearly empty — and after my visit, I can understand why. As someone who feels a connection to Kurdish culture, it was disappointing to see a place that could represent it do so in such a limited way.
