I was not blown away by this izakaya unfortunately. Some of the dishes seemed a bit out of place like their pastas. I tried their sea snake soup and it was interesting to say the least. It’s not easy to eat because there are lots of long bones in the snake. The broth of the soup was very flavoursome and it came with two rice balls. Their fried fish was alright and it didn’t have too much meat. Not the best value for money in my opinion. Very friendly staff. Bookings are mandatory if you want to get a seat. Seared boar? ! All anxiety is wiped away, this is delicious. It's probably one of the most popular restaurants on Iriomote Island, and you can hardly get in without making a reservation. Last year, I went out from my hotel in the evening and was wandering around thinking about having dinner somewhere, and that's when I found Kitchen Inaba. It was a weekday evening, so I thought there would be empty seats, but I was naive. Based on that rut, this year I made sure to make reservations about a month in advance. I visited at 6pm in the evening. The restaurant, which was still sparsely populated, was almost full by 7pm. I ordered island tofu salad, taco rice (recommended by the restaurant), tataki wild boar, creamy pasta with gazami, and rough tea. The one that surprised me was the wild boar tataki. Boar = a relative of pigs. Do you want to eat pork raw? ! I thought it was unthinkable, but it was actually served and it was delicious. There is no odor, so I wonder if Okinawa's wild boars are different from those on the main island. The restaurant's recommended taco rice had a large amount of rice, and the ratio of meat sauce on top was a little unbalanced, and although the taste was good, there was a lot of rice left over. The most delicious thing I ordered this time was the creamy pasta. It's a luxurious dish where the crab flavor covers the entire pasta and you can also enjoy the crab meat. The pasta was just the right amount of al dente, and despite being creamy, it had a refreshing feel to it.Although I ordered quite a bit and was almost full, I was able to finish it all. Traditional Yaeyama cuisine is great, but it's really helpful to have a restaurant on the island where you can enjoy this kind of cuisine. By the way, although you have to specify the time, we also provide transportation to the designated location.
